I’m Steve. I grew up in the San Francisco bay area and never made it terribly far from there (until now!). I spent my very early years in Alameda and Fremont and moved to San Jose when I was 10 years old. After high school (go Pioneer Mustangs!) I got my B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo (go Mustangs again!) and my M.S. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University (go Card…and, um, trees!).

After school, I spent three years working for the Department of the Navy at the Naval Air Warfare Center – Weapons Division in the CA Mojave Desert. For various reasons, I decided to move along and spent another three years working for a private machine vision company in Hayward, CA.

Eventually, wanderlust grabbed a hold of me and wouldn’t let go, and so I decided to try an experiment. I would quit my job, buy a van, and live out of it while traveling around the country. This website is a place for me to document that adventure.

One love!

Steve
